	EL CONSEJO REGULADOR ENTREGÓ LA DISTINCIÓN “AMIGO DEL RIOJA” A PEPU HERNÁNDEZ
	EN REPRESENTACIÓN DE LA SELECCIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE BALONCESTO
El presidente del Consejo Regulador, Víctor Pascual Artacho, hizo entrega de la distinción “Amigo del Rioja” a la Selección Española de Baloncesto y a su entrenador, Pepu Hernández, en una cena institucional ofrecida por el Consejo Regulador de Rioja y la Federación Riojana de Baloncesto a la Selección, representantes de la Federación, medios de comunicación y otras entidades. El Consejo Regulador estableció recientemente un acuerdo con la Federación Española de Baloncesto para patrocinar el primer partido de preparación de la Selección Española. Como es sabido, los de Pepu Hernández se enfrentarán en el Palacio de los Deportes de Logroño el próximo martes 14 de agosto a la selección de Portugal, precisamente el rival ante el que debutará España en el Eurobasket el 3 de septiembre en Sevilla. La distinción "Amigo del Rioja" fue creada por el Consejo Regulador para expresar su reconocimiento a quienes hayan manifestado públicamente su aprecio por el vino en general y por los vinos de Rioja en particular. Considera el Consejo que la Selección Española de Baloncesto representa un conjunto de valores que constituyen un gran ejemplo para la juventud desde el punto de vista humano y formativo, como la solidaridad, el trabajo en equipo, el espíritu competitivo, etc. Más información en documento adjunto: eurobasket_amigos_rioja.doc

	THE CONTROL BOARD GAVE THE DISTINCTION “FRIEND OF RIOJA” TO PEPU HERNÁNDEZ
	REPRESENTING THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM
The president of the Control Board, Víctor Pascual Artacho, gave the distinction “Friend of Rioja” to the national basketball team and its trainer, Pepu Hernández in an institutional dinner offered by the Riojan Control Board and the Riojan basketball federation to the national team, representatives of the federation, the media and other entities. The Control Board has established recently an agreement with the Spanish basketball federation to sponsor the first training match of the Spanish team. As it is well known, the team will confront in the “Palacio de los Deportes” of Logroño next Tuesday 14th August the Portuguese team, which is the same rival to play against Spain in the Eurobasket on the 3rd September in Seville. The distinction “Friend of Rioja” was created by the Control Board to express its acknowledgement to those who have publicly shown their appraisal for Riojan wine in particular. The Control Board considers the Spanish basketball team as representative of a set of values which constitutes a very good example for young people from a human and educative point of view, such as solidarity, teamwork, competitive spirit, etc. More info on attached document: eurobasket_amigos_rioja.doc
