	IV JORNADAS SOBRE LOS MONASTERIOS EN EL ATENEO RIOJANO
	SE CELEBRARÁN DEL 10 AL 14 DE MARZO EN LOGROÑO
El Ateneo Riojano ha organizado para principios del mes de marzo, del 10 al 14, la cuarta edición de las jornadas sobre los monasterios riojanos en la Edad Media, a la que acudirán especialistas de cuatro universidades españolas. La presidenta del Ateneo, María José Marrodán, presentó estas jornadas junto a su coordinador, el historiador Juan Cordero, y al gerente de la sociedad Logroño Turismo, Fernando Melchor, ya que esta entidad patrocina estas jornadas. Juan Cordero abrirá las jornadas, el día 10, con una conferencia sobre los orígenes medievales de La Rioja; el día siguiente, la profesora de la Universidad Complutense Margarita Cantera analizará la fundación del monasterio de Santa María La Real de Nájera; y el día 12 de marzo, Gonzalo Martínez, de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, hablará sobre San Millán de la Cogolla en la política medieval. Las jornadas incluyen dos conferencias más, el día 13, de Marta Herrero, de la Universidad de Valladolid, sobre el Códice Albeldense; y el 14, de Luis Martínez, de la Universidad de Burgos, sobre el Camino de Santiago a su paso por La Rioja durante la Edad Media. Con estas jornadas se pretende dar a conocer algunos aspectos fundamentales de los monasterios importantes de la región, sobre todo en una época como la Edad Media, momento en el que fueron refugio de la cultura y medio de difusión de la misma. 	4TH SESSION ABOUT MONASTERIES AT THE RIOJAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION
	IT WILL BE HELD FROM 10TH TO 14TH MARCH IN LOGROÑO
The Riojan Cultural centre has organised the 4th edition of the session about Riojan monasterios in the Middle Ages, which will be attended by experts from tour Spanish universities. The president of the Cultural Centre, María José Marrodán, presented yesterday these series of sessions together with her coordinator, the historian Juan Cordero, and the manager of the society Logroño Turismo, Fernando Melchor, because this entity sponsors the sessions. Juan Cordero will inaugurate the sessions, on the 10th with a lecture about the medieval origins of La Rioja; the following day, the professor from the Universidad Complutense Margarita Cantera will analyse the foundation of the Santa María La Real monastery in Nájera; and on the 12th March, Gonzalo Martínez, from Rey Juan Carlos university, will talk about San Millán de la Cogolla within the medieval political context. The sessions include two more lectures, on the 13th, by Marta Herrero, from the University of Valladolid, about the Codex from Albelda; and on the 14th March, by Luis Martínez, from the university of Burgos, about the Way of St. James when going through La Rioja during the Middle Ages. These sessions try to announce some fundamental aspects of the important monasteries in the region, above all during a period of time like the Middle Ages, which was the refuge for culture and a means of its spreading.
