	DESDE URUGUAY SE VIVE EL ESPÍRITU DE LA RIOJA
	JUAN PEDRO PUIGNAU NOS ACERCARÁ LA ACTIVIDAD DEL CENTRO RIOJANO
Al Uruguay han llegado por muy diversas circunstancias y motivos muchos riojanos, que se han integrado a la vida cotidiana de los uruguayos, pero manteniendo en su corazón vivo el espíritu de La Rioja y sus señas de identidad: su afán de progreso, su fe en el futuro, su espíritu solidario, su apertura al diálogo y su amor por la paz. Ese deseo de vivir La Rioja a más de 12.000 km. que nos separan de ella fue un importante estímulo y un poderoso acicate para nuclear a los riojanos que viven en Uruguay y formar el Centro Riojano de Uruguay, que inició sus actividades en julio de 2006 y cuenta desde los primeros meses de 2007 con la Personería Jurídica otorgada por el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura de Uruguay y el reconocimiento del Gobierno de La Rioja. Se han festejado las fiestas patronales de San Bernabé y San Mateo, que han permitido además de reunir a los riojanos en fechas tan significativas en la historia de la Comunidad de La Rioja, reafirmar el compromiso de desarrollar el Centro Riojano y hacer posible que los riojanos del Uruguay tengan un lugar de encuentro que los mantenga a la distancia unidos a la tierra que los vio nacer. 	RIOJAN SPIRIT IN URUGUAY
	JUAN PEDRO PUIGNAU BRINGS CLOSER THE RIOJAN CENTRE AND ITS ACTIVITIES
Many Riojan people arrived in Uruguay for different reasons and they have integrated into the everyday life in Urugay, but keeping alive in their hearts the Riojan spirit and their identity: their desire to better themselves, their faith in future, their solidarity, willingness to discuss matters and their love for peace. Such desire of living la Rioja further than 12,000 Km away was the reason and boost which gathered the Riojan people who live in Uruguay to create the Riojan Centre in Uruguay, which started its activities in July 2006 and which has been given the legal status by the Ministry of Culture and Education of Uruguay and the recognition of the Government of La Rioja. They have celebrated San Berbabé and San Mateo, significant dates in the history of La Rioja which not only gather the Riojan people living there but also reaffirm the commitment to develop the centre for their members to be able to have a place which links them to the land where they were born.
